Location:
False Creek, a picturesque waterfront neighborhood, starts at the

Character:
The Vancouver seawall, a pathway that encircles much of the city’s
waterfront, runs the length of False Creek. It leads right to Granville
Island, a small peninsula that is the neighborhood’s hub and its
largest attraction. Granville Island is a revitalized former industrial
park transformed into an entertainment, shopping and arts center. It
is home to numerous festivals and theatres, the Emily Carr Institute
of Art and Design, artists' studios and galleries, numerous restaurants
and brewpubs and the Public Market – one of the best sources of
fresh food in the Vancouver. Granville Island is a well-known tourist
attraction and a favorite destination for local residents.
The seawall will soon connect False Creek to the planned Southeast False
Creek development - a mixed-use residential community with a core objective
for livability and sustainability.
