LOCATION:

False Creek, a picturesque waterfront neighborhood, starts at the eastern end
of English Bay, under the Granville Street Bridge and stretches along the shore
of False Creek to Science World.

False Creek has a wide mix of housing, from waterfront condos to houseboats
in the large Granville Island marina.

CHARACTER:

The Vancouver seawall, a pathway that encircles much of the city’s waterfront,
runs the length of False Creek. It leads right to Granville Island, a small
peninsula that is the neighborhood’s hub and its largest attraction. Granville
Island is a revitalized former industrial park transformed into an entertainment,
shopping and arts center. It is home to numerous festivals and theatres, the
Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, artists' studios and galleries, numerous
restaurants and brewpubs and the Public Market – one of the best sources
of fresh food in the Vancouver. Granville Island is a well-known tourist
attraction and a favorite destination for local residents.

The seawall will soon connect False Creek to the planned Southeast False
Creek development - a mixed-use residential community with a core objective
for livability and sustainability.

WHAT'S IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

Granville Island is False Creek’s center for shopping and entertainment. From
fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, wine, arts and crafts and entertainment,
False Creek residents can find exactly what they’re looking for at Granville Island.
The neighborhood also includes marinas with both pleasure yachts and working
fishing boats.

False Creek is very child friendly with a waterpark and playground, and the three
story Kid's Market toy store. Water taxis and the Granville Street Bridge mean
downtown Vancouver is only minutes away.
